Whether you come from east or west, the most popular railway is the Tokaido Shinkansen Line. All Nozomi, Hikari and Kodama Shinkansen trains stop at Nagoya. From the Kansai region, you can save on your train fare by using the Kintetsu Express Urban Liner, though it takes a bit longer than the Shinkansen (bullet train). You can come to Nagoya from Toyama, Kanazawa or other places in the Hokuriku Region conveniently without any transfer connections.

Railways

The JR Tokaido Shinkansen (bullet train) is the most popular way to Nagoya from the East or West of Japan. All Nozomi, Hikari and Kodama Shinkansen trains stop at Nagoya. To/From the Kansai region, you can save on your train fare by using the Kintetsu Express Urban Liner, though it takes a bit longer than the Shinkansen.

Fares for the express trains listed in the JR Tokaido Shinkansen, JR and Kintetsu express trains are for reserved seats. Due to traffic conditions, the time required for transportation may vary from the scheduled time listed on the board.
