Located in Nagoya’s historic Arimatsu district, this immersive program offers a rare opportunity to discover the art of Shibori tie-dyeing in its cultural birthplace. Arimatsu has been the heart of Japan’s Shibori production for over 400 years, with beautifully preserved streets that trace back to the Edo period. Its beautifully preserved streets and merchant houses still retain the charm of a bygone era and have been recognized as a Japan Heritage Site.
This hands-on group experience is designed for incentive programs, student groups, and cultural delegations seeking meaningful, team-oriented activities. Begin your journey with a guided tour through Arimatsu’s historic district, followed by an interactive Shibori dyeing workshop. Participants will divide into teams and compete in creating the most impressive tie-dye designs, fostering collaboration, creativity, and cultural engagement.
