Experience the traditional Okinawan performing art of Eisa.
See it, drum it, dance it , feel it with your whole body!
Eisa is a vibrant performing art from Okinawa, originally danced during the summer Obon season to honor ancestral spirits.
Over time, it has evolved into a dynamic and powerful group performance, combining energetic dance, resonant taiko drumming, and the soulful sound of the sanshin (Okinawan three-stringed instrument).
Today, Eisa captivates audiences not only across Japan, but around the world.
At this workshop, you won’t just watch, you’ll beat the drum, learn the moves, and dance together just like the performers.
Whether you’re local or visiting from abroad, this is a rare opportunity to connect with the spirit of Okinawa, right here in the heart of Nagoya.
Let the rhythm of the drum stir your soul,
let the movement of the dance awaken your body,
and let the spirit of Okinawa fill your heart.
Don’t just watch, join the rhythm.
Make this summer unforgettable with Eisa.
