ผ้ามัดย้อมอาริมัตสึ

Arimatsu Shibori-tie-dyed silk fabric originally for kimono. Many shops are along the main street in Arimatsu area one of the 53 stage towns of the Tokaido (one of the 5 major highways) which flourished during Edo period. Still retains the atmosphere of the traditional street lined with typical Japanese merchant houses. Many shops deal in the traditional specialty products of Nagoya shibori: dappled cloth originated as a hand towel as a souvenir for the travelers of the Old Highway, later cloth for kimono which maintained the high popularity among the kimono lovers.
