Moomin: The Art and the Story

Event information:

The world's only "Moomin Museum" is coming!

The Moomin series, created by Tove Jansson (1914–2001), the mother of Finnish artists, is beloved by many through a number of mediums like novels, picture books, newspaper comics, animations, and merchandise. This exhibition offers viewers a chance to see approximately 500 pieces capturing the intrigue of the series' imaginative art and deep story.

Period: Saturday, December 7, 2019–Sunday, January 19, 2020

Closed: Wednesday, January 1 (national holiday), 2020

Time: 10:00 AM–7:30 PM
*Last admission 30 minutes before closing
*Closes at 6:00 PM on 12/31/2019 and on the last day, 1/19/2020

Venue: Matsuzakaya Art Museum (7th floor of the South Building, Nagoya Matsuzakaya)

Admission fee:
Adults: 1,300 yen, high school/university students: 1,000 yen, elementary/junior high school students: 700 yen (free for children under elementary school age)
Special bun hairdo discount
Throughout the Moomin exhibition period, event-goers sporting hair done up in a bun like Little My, one of the series' popular characters, are allowed entry with 200 yen discounted from the normal price.
*If your hair is too short to put into a bun, you may receive the discount by decorating your head with something resembling a bun.
