The 75th Hirokoji Summer Festival
As the face of Nagoya, this cooling summer festival unfolds on historic and traditional Hirokoji.
Growing in scale and splendor year by year, it celebrates its 75th edition this year.
More than 100 food stalls line the streets, and weaving their way among them, Japanese festivals and traditional Japanese dances fill every available space in lively parades.
Over the course of the two-day event each year, some 500,000 people of all ages come together to enjoy and enliven the summer evenings, making it one of Nagoya’s signature summer events.
