This exhibit introduces the creations of Tamaya Shohei in one place, a ninth-generation karakuri doll maker whose works are representative of Japan. Exemplary mechanical dolls such as "Dashi Karakuri," "Zashiki Karakuri" and his latest original karakuri are presented here. The first-generation doll maker’s “Crane” restored specifically for this exhibit is on view for the first time in the Tokai region.
