Savor traditional eel cuisine and Japanese dishes prepared with all the beauty of the seasons
The eel-themed architecture makes quite an impression.
It is said that this restaurant started out as a teahouse along the Nakasendo trade route that was popular for its grilled catfish. Having become popular in Gifu, it moved to this location in 1951. Ever since, it has been selling grilled eel while passing down its secret sauce. The high-quality thick cuts of eel grilled traditionally with binchotan charcoal are truly excellent.
