Togokusan Fruits Park
A place of nature and history, Mt. Togoku (198 m) is the tallest mountain in the city, and is surrounded by 70 kofun sites. Togokusan Fruits Park is a multipurpose agricultural park at the base of the mountain that uses the rich natural surroundings. In the park there is an orchard where around 900 trees of 17 species of fruit grow, including peaches, Asian pears, and apples. There is a greenhouse where you can see papaya, jackfruit, and other rare tropical fruits, and a fruithouse where you can see exhibits of various sample fruits. Besides these, the park also has a fishing corner, Japanese-style garden, all-season flower garden, a restaurant, and shops. The park is a famous place for weeping cherry blossom trees in the spring. Higashiyama Zoo and Botanical Gardens
A "forest where you can meet the animals of the world" surrounded by nature in the middle of a city There are tons of popular animals at this zoo! From tiny medaka fish to huge elephants, it is home to the largest number of animals in Japan. Come and see the wide variety of animals. There are many facilities, including the gorilla and chimpanzee house—home to famously handsome gorilla Shabani—the Asian elephant house, and the koala house. Birding Hots Spot Fujimae Tideland
Nagoya City Wild Bird Watching Building: Where you can see migrating birds on the Fujimae Tidal Flat Throughout the year, more than 100 species of wild birds land at the Fujimae Tidal Flat. It is the foremost landing spot for migratory birds in the country, and is a designated Ramsar Site. The Nagoya City Wild Bird Watching Building is a place where you can watch them. You can see sandpipers and plovers in the migrating seasons in the spring and fall, and thousands of ducks and dunlins in winter. Recently, there has been an increase in sightings of ospreys (a relative of the hawk). If you're lucky, you'll get to see an osprey catch and eat a fish. See More

Hoosan Jinmokuji (Jinmokuji Kannon)
In the year 597, a fisherman named Ryumaro from Jinmoku Village in Ise was casting his fishing net in the bay of Egami Sho when he pulled up a golden statue of the Holy Kannon (Kannon Bodhisattva). He built a temple to enshrine the Kannon statue on the northern part of the bay, and this is the legend surrounding the founding of Jinmokuji (Hadame-dera) that has been passed down through generations. It is one of Japan's most renowned ancient temples, following in the footsteps of Horyuji and Shitennoji. The Holy Kannon statue is said to have been created after receiving a prediction from Shakyamuni Buddha. It traveled through Baekje (an ancient kingdom in Korea) and arrived in Japan. It is believed to be one of the three statues that were cast into the sea in 585. The other two statues were also found.
