72nd Japan Traditional Crafts Exhibition Nagoya
[Held from 9/26 (Fri) to 10/6 (Mon) 10:00-17:00!]
The Japan Traditional Crafts Exhibition is an open call exhibition where artists facing crafts make full use of their skills to create works in order to protect the world's outstanding Japanese craft traditions and pass them on to the future, and their elegance is fairly evaluated. The Cultural Property Protection Law came into effect in Showa 25, and it was decided to protect and develop craft techniques with particularly high artistic value as a country, and important intangible cultural properties were established. Artists with the title of Important Intangible Cultural Property, so-called Living National Treasure, have a responsibility to connect to the future and further develop their technology without interrupting it. This traditional crafts exhibition is the only open call exhibition in Japan where even such living national treasures are judged fairly. 180 selected works collected from all over the country will be gathered in Nagoya.
