for attracting MICE

Convention Volunteer Nagoya

The Nagoya Convention & Visitors Bureau offers a service for the dispatch of volunteers to support the holding of international conferences and other conventions held in Nagoya.

Eligible conventions for this service

  • The main venue of the convention must be in Nagoya City.
  • The convention must contribute to the promotion of science, culture, international exchange, etc.
  • The convention must not have a political or religious purpose.

Volunteers are dispatched to conventions when all of the above conditions are met and the Nagoya Convention & Visitors Bureau (hereinafter “the Bureau”) has approved the dispatch.

Description of activities

  • Dealing with registration and reception duties and handing out materials, etc.Confirmation of registered participants, exchange of related documents, etc.
  • CloakroomLuggage management in the cloakrooms located at venues
  • Guiding guestsProvision of information on the venues and schedule
  • Operation of rest areasReplenishment and management of coffee and other beverages at rest areas
  • Secretariat supportServing guests and speakers, etc.

* Please refrain from having dispatched volunteers engage in work involving the handling of money.

* Please refrain from having dispatched volunteers engage in work in the early morning hours and/or the middle of the night.

Expenses required

Paying rewards or other compensation to volunteers is not required. However, as a general rule, 1,000 yen per day for each volunteer will need to be paid as transportation expenses.
Also, if the work hours fall during meal time, please provide a meal.
