The Tea House Joan is a tea room relocated and reconstructed from Shoinden sub-temple of Kenninji Temple located in Kyoto, and designated as a national treasure. The study relocated at the same time as Joan is designated as an important cultural property. In addition, there are a restored tea ceremony room called Genan, a tea ceremony room for rent called Koan, and a garden where flowers displayed at tea ceremony are grown are located along the path with the view of tsukiyama (an artificial hill) and nagareishigumi (an arrangement of rocks in the garden to form a stream).
