“Owari Four Kannon” refers to the four temples “Arako Kannon Temple,” “Ryusen-ji Temple,” “Jimokuji Kannon,” and “Kasadera Kannon,” which enshrine Kannon as the principal image.
Tokugawa Ieyasu built Nagoya Castle as the center of Owari Province, and it seems that the temple corresponding in the direction of Demon Gate when viewed from Nagoya Castle was designated as the “Owari Four Kannon” as guardians of Nagoya Castle.
Also, it is said that there are benefits to praying at a temple close to Eho. This year's Eho Kannon is “Kasadera Kannon.”
