Hideaki Anno Exhibition

  • Hideaki Anno Exhibition

Within the first 127 days of its release, Evangelion: 3.0+1.0 Thrice Upon a Time—the long awaited finale to the newest batch of Evangelion films—drew in a crowd of 6.55 million moviegoers, pulling in a whopping JPY 10 billion at the box office. This exhibition reveals the creative genius of Hideaki Anno, mastermind behind the film franchise as well as his acclaimed work with 2022's Shin Ultraman and 2023's Shin Kamen Rider.
Look over a vast display of handwritten memos and drawings, screenplays integral to piecing together his characteristic flavor of movie production, designs, illustrative sketches, storyboards, layouts, and more. The exhibition includes everything from his earliest works as a student and amateur animator to newer pieces as a director and producer, even offering a myriad of production materials such as original pictures and miniature sets! Numerous important original pictures and miniatures serving as the cornerstone of Anno's creative endeavors which mix together animation and special effects too grace the event.
