In recent years, Japanese taiko drumming has gained great popularity not only in Japan, but also at festivals and cultural events around the world.
With its powerful sound, dynamic movements, and deep connection to Japanese spirituality, taiko continues to captivate audiences globally.
Taiko drums have long been cherished as traditional Japanese instruments and an essential part of festivals.
Today, taiko drumming is also attracting attention as a wellness activity, as it combines rhythm, sound, and full-body movement.
It is enjoyed as a form of exercise and an effective way to relieve stress.
At our February Japanese Culture Workshop, you will discover the appeal of taiko through all your senses, watching, listening, playing, and feeling the rhythm with your entire body.
On the day of the event, you will first experience a powerful taiko performance up close,
followed by a hands-on drumming session where you can actually play the drums yourself.
No prior experience is necessary.
Simply surrender to the rhythm and enjoy the moment as sound and body become one.
The experience concludes with a special group performance, where all participants come together to complete one piece.
Even if you’ve just met, you will feel a strong sense of connection and shared accomplishment through the rhythm.

| Instructors | This workshop will be led by professional taiko performers active mainly in Aichi Prefecture: •Mr. Tetsuro Suzuki (TSUWAMONO Sai), who performs traditional Japanese instruments at various events •Ms. Shusen, a female taiko drummer of the Ryuo-style Taiko School They will carefully guide you through the joy, power, and beauty of taiko drumming. |
