Nagoya Illumination Special Collection 2019

Nagoya is full of fun events like illuminations and projection mappings, a Christmas market, skating rinks, fireworks, and more in winter. Have a wonderful time in Nagoya with that special someone.

Nagoya Station Area

Noritake Garden's Christmas Garden 2019

Saturday, November 9-Wednesday, December 25, 2019
Illumination: After sundown-7:00 PM (Until 9:00 PM, 12/21-12/25)
*Closed: Mondays (Open on Monday, December 23.)
Location: Noritake Garden (Kamejima Station on the Higashiyama subway line / Me~guru Nagoya Sightseeing Route Bus "Noritake Garden" Bus Stop)
Santa and a giant Christmas tree make an appearance, and approximately 40,000 lights illuminate the park from sundown!

Midland Christmas 2019

Wednesday, November 6-Wednesday, December 25, 2019
Illumination: 5:00 PM-11:00 PM (Some days differ)
Location: Midland Square (Nagoya Station)
Themed "White Fantasia" this year.

KITTE Nagoya's Star Christmas

Illumination: 5:15 AM-12:30 AM
KITTE Nagoya 1F Atrium and other areas
Holding Christmas tree and concert events following a storyline.

Sakae Area

Iceless skating rink, Toyoda Gosei Rink

Saturday (national holiday), November 23, 2019-Wednesday, February 26, 2020
・1:00 PM-8:00 PM (Weekdays)
・10:00 AM-8:00 PM (Saturdays, Sundays, national holidays, and 12/24-1/6)
(Admission until 30 minutes before closing)
Location: Oasis 21 (Sakae Station on the Higashiyama and Meijo subway lines)
Weekdays: 900 yen for junior high school students and older, 500 yen for elementary school students and younger
Holidays: 1,200 yen for junior high school students and older, 500 yen for elementary school students and younger, etc.
You can skate on this rink as it is made of a special plastic material.
First-timers and children can easily stand on this rink in comparison with an ice rink.

Illumination: 5:00 PM-11:00 PM (Tentative)
Location: ASUNAL KANAYAMA (Kanayama Station on the subway, Meitetsu, and JR lines)
Free admission
Depicting a colorful, poppy Christmas perspective reminiscent of retro American culture.

Shirotori Garden's Akari Art

Saturday, November 16-Sunday, December 8, 2019
Garden hours: 9:00 AM-9:00 PM (admission until 8:30 PM)
Illumination: Sundown-9:00 PM
Closed: Mondays
*Closes at 5:00 PM on Friday, November 22 and Saturday, November 23
Location: Shirotori Garden (10-minute walk from Exit 4 of Jingu Nishi Station on the Meijo subway line)
Adults: 300 yen, junior high school students and younger: free
Akari lantern art made with Mino-washi Japanese paper and illumination of autumn leaves with Japanese lanterns.

Port of Nagoya

Sea Train Land's Very Merry Christmas 2019

Saturday (national holiday), November 23-Wednesday, December 25, 2019
Illumination: 4:30 PM-8:00 PM
*Until 10:00 PM on Saturdays, Sundays, national holidays, and during winter vacation.
Sea Train Land, Port of Nagoya (5-minute walk from Exit 3 of Nagoyako Station on the Meiko subway line)
*Free admission (Charges for rides, etc.)
Shining illuminations and more set to sound, painting the park with approximately 50,000 lights.

ISOGAI Fireworks Theater in Port of Nagoya

Saturday, December 21, 2019
Doors open at 5:00 PM / Event from 6:30 PM (planned to finish at 7:15 PM).
*Held rain or shine (moved to the next day on the 22nd in severe weather)
Location: All around Garden Pier, Port of Nagoya (Just outside Nagoyako Station on the Meiko subway line)
Admission: 5,000 yen for S seats and 3,500 yen for A seats
Paired with music, fireworks soar upward creating an Xmas story in a beautiful fireworks musical. *Held rain or shine

Outside Nagoya

Nabana no Sato Illumination

Saturday, October 19, 2019-Wednesday, May 6, 2020
9:00 AM-9:00 PM *Lengthened to 10:00 PM on certain days.
Location: Nabana no Sato (30-minute ride by Meitetsu Bus from Nagoya Station)
Admission: 2,300 yen for elementary school students and adults (including a 1,000-yen coupon for use within Nabana no Sato). Free for children younger than elementary school students.
One of the largest and impressively bright illumination events in Japan!

The brightest ever Winter Laguna

Saturday, November 2, 2019-Tuesday, March 31, 2020
Illumination: Sunset-Lagunasia's closing time (business hours may differ by season)
Location: Lagunasia in Laguna Ten Bosch (15-minute ride by free shuttle bus from Gamagori Station on the JR Tokaido Line)
Admission: 2,250 yen for adults (junior high school ages and above) and 1,300 yen for elementary school students
Enjoy the sparkle of six big illumination events, three projection mapping shows, and ten different photogenic spots.
